Well, it's getting near--the gift-giving season. For the last few years, the tradition has been that the room parents collect a monetary gift (in any amount) from fellow parents and purchase a gift card for their classroom teacher (in addition, a portion of that money was set aside for teacher aides and specials teachers).
This year, we would like to try a new way for parents to "turn in" their gift money. Below is a link to a website called "Deposit a Gift". This is not a fundraiser, rather a different way of "turning in" your money. The site is live now and will remain active until Friday, December 12th at 5:00 pm.
Gift contributions will be divided among all teachers and staff at Roxboro Elementary. From the classroom teachers, to the specials teachers, to the lunch aides and janitorial crew...our goal is for everyone to be appreciated and recognized this year! We will purchase gift cards to local Heights businesses that support our school, year after year, through generous donations, sponsorships and/or advertising (teachers/staff will be able to choose their favorite spot!)
There is more information and details on the site. If you should have any additional questions, please let us know.
If you would rather turn in cash or a check, rather than contribute online, no problem at all! When we return from Thanksgiving break, there will be an envelope sent home and you can send your gift back that way. (Yes, the web site does retain a small fee for credit card processing. However, we think the convenience of "turning in" money online is worth the endeavor!)
Many schools, nationwide, are giving this a try and it has been quite successful!
The site is open now, so please feel free to check this off of your list today!
Thanks and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
